Back in the sling of things.
I just love the slingbox. It is working better than ever and just in time for the NFL championship games and super bowl. My dad hooked up the slingbox at his house where we have full control over the DVR. It is awesome. We had Monday night football tonight.
We are getting back into the swing of things though. The kids started school yesterday. We are homeschooling them online. They are both enrolled in an American school where they log in to a classroom online. They watch videos of the class sessions with real teachers and real classmates. So far the kids love it. Lets hope for no technical issues.
We went to dinner with some friends on Saturday night. It was great to meet up with Ziad and family. Ziad was one of my first friends on my island. He has two boys and a sweet wife. His two boys are enamored by crabs so they both ordered crab everything… crab soup, crab cakes, and crab spaghetti.
Nasha and Mode came over tonight for dinner. I shared my jalapeno powder with them. (My sister’s husband dries homegrown jalapenos and then grinds them into a powder.) He was kind enough to donate some to me.
Braden and I explained the inner-workings of American football to Mode as we watched it on the slingbox. The girls managed to slip away to another room for girl talk. Maybe I can get Mode to play football with us on Fridays. We have a set day and time where we play beach football. This past Friday, we had two new islanders and a South African join us for the game. I am constantly inviting people to join, so hopefully we will have a beach-full soon.
I guess you could say, “we are back in the sling of things…”
I spy the flip flop coffee cup! Did Nasha get to drink coffee out of it? Awesome!!! I want to meet her so bad! She looks so happy! Tell her hello for me.
