Up for bid

To my home country island neighbors…

The Cox family received a care package today from Texas. In the care package was a 6-pack of 8 oz Dr. Peppers. Unfortunately 1 met it’s demise at the fate of a careless postal worker on the transatlantic journey. Fortunately, the San Angelo Standard Times newspapers and the one box of sweet tarts soaked up all spilled contents. I have a bit of a dilemma sorting out the balance of the beverages and was hoping you would help me with the solution. Let me share with you my quandary and hence the reason for this email.
There are four of us and one in our family is not a fan of the sweet nectar from above. Two children already consumed their’s so if you are following me, there are 3 maroon can’s remaining in our ice cold refrigerator. I plan to enjoy mine later this week leaving only two. We have already chosen to award Braden one of the remaining two to savor on his birthday early next month leaving one precious 8 oz Dr. Pepper.
Since I am the head of the household, I determine the fate of the final canned brew. I do not want to be greedy here and consume it myself in fear of a revolt in my own castle. While this remains an option and chance I must consider, I would love to share the tasteful refreshment with anyone and everyone who longs for the burn of the blessed drink. However, I dont believe 8 oz is enough to share and would prefer a winner take all approach. So with this in mind I am offering a trade. First, you must ask yourself, “How bad do you want it?” Second, “How well do I know Bobby?” Third, “What would he take for the drink?” Perhaps a nice hot cup of the relentless Guatemalan Casi Cielo blend of Starbucks coffee? What is his weakness? How far must I go? At what offer will he eagerly trade such a prized possession?
If you dare (or care) to have a little fun with this? I will entertain any offers and or bribes. If you find yourself with nothing to offer, I will consider relinquishing the cold refreshing Texas concoction to the one who craves it the most and can convince me of your plight. But you must remember, I am but a selfish and sinful man who also desires to have his thirst quenched.
Let the bidding begin.
